Sue Elliott

Dr Sue Elliott has been a leader in sustainability practices within early childhood education and care for over twenty-five years. She is an experienced practitioner, academic, consultant, author and researcher in early childhood education with a focus on education for sustainability, outdoor playspaces and forest preschools. Most recently, she led an early childhood education for sustainability scoping study for the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Environmental Trust (Elliott, McCrea, Newsome & Gaul, 2016) and is currently leading two research projects around children’s experiences in natural outdoor contexts. She co-edited with Davis Research in early childhood education for sustainability: International perspectives and provocations (2014), the first edited collation of current early childhood education for sustainability research. Sue is an active participant in the TransNational Dialogues in Early Childhood Education for Sustainability international research group and has also co-ordinated early childhood consultancy projects with various organisations including the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne and Museum Victoria.

Dr Sue Elliott is a Senior Lecturer and Course Co-ordinator in Early Childhood Education at the University of New England (UNE), Armidale, New South Wales.
