Susan Spedding Susan Spedding, Dip Ed, BEd (Primary), Grad Dip Ed Stud (Spec Ed), M Spec Ed, PhD, MACE, is Senior Lecturer and Program Convenor of special education and early childhood teacher education programs at the Ourimbah campus of the University of Newcastle. She has worked with trainee and postgraduate teachers, and has contributed to texts used extensively in teacher education programs in Australia and New Zealand. Her research interests are in early literacy, reading difficulties, and inclusive education for students with special educational needs. Co-chief investigator of two large research projects: ‘Support at Home for Early Language and LiteracieS’ , and evaluation of the South Australian Government’s ‘Learning Together Project’. Sue has worked with families, early childhood educators, and other professionals in diverse contexts.
