A lecturer, consultant and prolific author, Carol Seefeldt was a professor of human development at the University of Maryland Institute of Child Study from 1971 to 1999. She received the Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award from the University, and published 21 books and over 150 scholarly research articles for teachers and parents.
Carol, a lifelong member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), served as consulting editor to both associations and was a special editor of an issue of Childhood Education. She served as President and Secretary of the Maryland AEYC, was on the Teacher Education Commission of NAEYC, and was co-interim editor of Young Children.
We are saddened by the death of Carol Seefeldt, age 70, in January, 2005.
